2012-13 Learn to Sail Project
We're about to take the helm and chart our own course !
For the past 3 years Mabou has enjoyed the services of the NSYA Mobile Sailing Program. Each year we filled this program to capacity and it soon became evident that a permanant facilty was a viable opportunity. In the fall of 2011 we began submitting proposals to build our own sailing club. Several applications were submitted to our major funding partners like ECBC, Sport Nova Scotia, Nova Scotia Health and Wellness-PASR, Central Inverness Community Health Board, and Service Canada. As of February 2013 we have made significant progress towards our goal. We have completed new docks and a storage/training center. We have also purchased several new boats and upgraded the grounds. We welcome your feedback and remain very excited , committed, and confident as we move forward to the successful implementation of this project. Photos below are a random sampling of the work to date. We'll be adding more as we go along.
